Dear Nick, i wanna say thank you and all the boys from "nasty habits" to make a dream come true ! the last week was one of the best in my life - the rehearsals and the gigs in graz and in vienna as well. So i hope we´ll meet again soon ! Greetings to Richard, Jeff and Grumpy -Oh Sh.., Yeah ! Cheers, Chris
Hi Nick, I just wanted to say thanks again to you and to Peter (and the rest of Nasty Habits) for making these two shows possible. Saturday night in Vienna was an unforgettable experience and a lot of fun. It looked as though you just couldn't stop yourself from smiling throughout the whole night. The Reigen was an ideal venue and there were some heavy-duty Nick Simper and Deep Purple fans there to see you play. It was great to see and hear so many Mk1 Purple songs performed live; it's an amazing back catalogue and from such a short period of time. Words like time travel and nostalgia trip off the tongue but the songs speak for themselves and deserve to be heard live by rock fans (old and not so old). It's difficult to select highlights but I particularly enjoyed the band's versions of The Painter, Chasing Shadows and Why Didn't Rosemary. It was a nice surprise to meet your son afterwards and I hope that you and Nasty Habits get the opportunity to do it all again somewhere in the not too distant future. I'm certainly looking forward to the DVD. See you again very soon with The Good Old Boys. As Carlo said, Never Stop Rockin'. All the best, Nigel
Dear Nick, it´s very hard to find words for this wonderfull week and this amazing two gigs in Graz and Vienna. It was the best week in my life and I and the band are very proud that we had the chance to played with You. we cann´t wait to do the next gigs. So from the bottom of my heart: "THANK YOU" Peter (Nasty Habits)
Hi Nick,
it was such a pleasure seeing your show on Saturday in the Reigen. I enjoied every second of your playing and I’m proud to got the chance seeing you live. Thank you very much for an unforgettable evening and hope to see you soon again in Vienna.
All the best and keep on rocking.
Stephan
Dear Nick,
I saw you last night at Reigen Club in Vienna, I came especially from Munich to see this awesome wonderful extraordinary event. It was an unforgettable time-travel in glorious early Purple days. Your performance together with the fascinating Nasty Habits was brilliant and high professional. It was an great pleasure too hear never before live performed songs like "Why didn't Rosemary", "Kentucky women" or "And the address".... I hope that this performance will released as CD or better DVD, Peter told, that this gig was recorded. Thanx for your patience to sign my T-Shirt and CD's, I hope I can you see in future with The Good Ol' Boys, maybe in Munich? And i hope so, that youre rarest records with Simon Raven Cult or Flying Fox would available for collectors some day. I'm an enthusiastic Purple collector, but this two Simper releases are missing in my collection.
Thanx for a great evening !
Thomas aka purplemaniac

Hi Nick ,

Hi Nick. You wouldn't be related to one Alfred Thomas Simper (my maternal grandfather) who settled in singapore, had a family and died in the 60's. I understand he travelled to South Africa to fight the Boer War at turn of last century and then headed to India and is environs - where he was a tea planter and owned a/lived in a houseboat in Kashmir. He has only one child, my mom, and this chinese wife-going by the name of Anna. I think he became the first chief accountant of the s'pore traction company (predecessor of the Singapore Bus Services_Ltd). Would appreciate any leads you may have on my real lineage. Thanks and a Happy New Year. I could also be reached at +65-81351794 if you've struck bulls-eye!!

Hi Nick
It's Nick again. Are you in contact with any of the guys from Frankie Read & The Casuals? Do you know if Chris Jackson ended up in July? When you were playing around the Ealing area in the early 1960s, did you ever come across Jeff Curtis & The Flames?
best wishes
Nick
Hi there
I noticed in your gallery that you have a photo of Frankie Read & The Casuals. Did you know these guys well? Mick Liber ended in Australia with a group called Python Lee Jackson. Would it be possible to use the photo?
Nick
Great to see the website. My little girl is 8 and demands we play Hush every time we get in the car. You'll have to get a van with a bigger fuel tank and come up the A1 someday.
